Personal statement

I am a Senior Lecturer at the electronic & electrical engineering department and member of the WECC (Wind Energy and Control Group) from University of Strathclyde. Over the course of my academic career, I have focused my research efforts in the improvement of production, transmission and distribution of electric energy by integrating power electronics into the power systems, with a strong reliance on prototype and digital control development to validate the proposed solutions. I have worked with internationally recognized research groups in power electronics/systems such as the Alpha Laboratory of Power Electronics at the University of British Columbia, Canada (2014-2016), The Wind Energy & Control Centre at the University of Strathclyde, UK (2016-present), and the PGIIE, Mexico (2013). Additionally, I have carried out research,prototype development and Consultancy with industrial partners such as Prolec-General Electric, Mexico (2013), Alpha Technologies LTD, Canada (2015), and Offshore Renewable Energy CATAPULT, UK, (2018) and Auto Motive Power, Inc (2021). I am a Senior Member of the IEEE (SMIEEE) and Member of the Mexican National Investigator System (SNI-I). Taught Courses: EE472/EE972, Control Principles (2019 - present), for final year undergraduate and MSc students. EE821, Wind Generators Modelling and Control (2020 - present), for final year undergraduate and MSc students. EE577/977 Wind Energy And Distributed Energy Resources (2018 - present), for final year undergraduate and MSc students.
